What is it all about?

Welcome to the world of the Waterfields!   Adventures in making, baking and creating.  Life as it should be: beautiful, tasty and very, very messy!

I’m Elena, a recent graduate, wife and compulsive “maker.”  My husband Jon is your classic outdoorsy type – I currently have two freshly caught trout sitting in the sink and another in the freezer!  Together we’re the Waterfields (hence the rather odd title to this blog. Sorry. I failed to come up with anything better)  Home is our renovated caravan on a beautiful little patch of farmland.  At the start of a new year of creative endeavours, I decided to begin this blog to share my experiences: the good and the bad and, when it goes wrong, the very ugly!  More of those honest blog posts to come perhaps.  Anyway, a year on and I’m still blogging and I think it has fed the urge to create and I believe I may be imporving skills gaining new ones along the way.

I hope to post recipes which have worked, hints and tips, links to useful sites and, increasingly, tutorials of my own!  I would love to hear from you with your feedback, ideas and questions.

Thanks for visiting and watch this space.

    • Haha! I have this theory that if every woman used a sewing machine 50 years ago then we can all do it now, just like driving a car. Bit of a lost art sewing 🙂 Loving your creative projects.

  1. I believe I left my first comment on this page in the wrong place, sorry!  I guess I sent an email or something instead of a comment.  (I’m new to this blogging stuff! Lol)  Thanks for following my blog!  I hope if you can find the time that you will stop by my page called “Reasons to Smile” and leave a comment.  It’s a list of things people are thankful for, just to encourage each other.  I’d love to hear your thoughts!  Have a great day!
